Life at Alert Level 2 means you can resume many of your everyday activities — but you have to do so safely. 

  • All businesses can open to customers if they can do it safely. This will help to get people back to work.
  • You can go in-store at businesses.

how we make us COVID-19 safe

  To protect customers and our staff, Browning Auto Repairs will be following the latest Ministry of Health advice on preventing COVID-19 while promoting good hygiene practices in the workplace.

  • Staff to wear correct PPE (gloves, masks etc)
  • All cars and keys wiped down and steamed 
  • Social distancing remains important: 2m from customers (only if you have to engage with them), 1m from co-workers
  • Display a COVID-19 safe work plan.
  • Record workplace interactions  
  • Provide contactless payment
  • Hygiene measures maintained
  • Regularly Disinfect the workshop and office. (Non-Toxic & Safe chemicals to use on all washable surfaces)


The Transport Agency will set expiry dates for these documents, which could extend up until 10 October 2020. They will let you know as we set these dates and will ensure you have plenty of time to get your documents compliant. Please check that they have your correct contact details – WoF expired on or after 1 January 2020.

 It is still a requirement that vehicles must be safe to operate on a public road. If your vehicle is unsafe, you shouldn't drive it. 

During level 3 we can provide WOF inspection & a FREE safety check. Please make a booking and visit us if you are unsure about your vehicle safety.

COVID 19 safe operating guide for customers

1. Contact us

We will Check before we confirm your booking ;  

  • Travelled overseas in the last 14 days?
  • Had close contact with someone who has travelled overseas 14 days?
  • Had close contact with someone in self-isolation?
  • Had flu-like symptoms e. coughing, sneezing or difficulty breathing, high temperature?
  • If someone is not well, request they do not come to the site.

Provide us your full details when you make a booking. 

e.g., Name, contact number, e-mail address...vehicle REGO, make, and models.

We have to keep full customer details and vehicle details for maintaining a daily log. 

2. your vehicle should be

  • No open drinks, straws, food etc in the vehicle. 
  • And personal stuff should be in bags or a Basket.

Please clear out any rubbish & personal belongings Before we enter your vehicle.

3. Drop off & Pick up

  • Park your vehicle in our car park when you arrive.
  • Turn off and heating and air conditioning system - switched to off. So air is not blowing when the key is turned on. 
  • Around the entrance door will have COVID 19 guides. 
  • Staff and the public will need to stay 2 meters apart at all times

4. work on vehicle

  • Customer keys will also be wiped down on arrival and pick up.  
  • We will be entering the vehicle with disposable gloves on before wiping down Vehicle with disinfectant & Steam cleaner.   
  • Staff will wear protective gear at all times when working with your vehicle.

Browning Auto Repairs will re-open 28.04.20 operating normal business hours. Repairers can operate like they have been in Alert Level 4 but are now able to work on vehicles for non-essential workers and on non-essential vehicles.
